NEW MUSIC: WHITNEY HOUSTON
Here is a new Whitney Houston album called "Million Dollar Bill" from her new album "I Look To You." It features from the unlikely production pair Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, and the result is a late 70's/early 80's R&B disco, feel good song.
I must say the song is not all too bad if you like this type a song. I would have given it to Chaka or Mary. Whitney is just not vocally taking charge of this song like she should and that's where the song fails. Her vocals needs to sound more crisp and punchy while remaining soulful, and Whitney doesn't pull off the song as she should. Her voice is just too messy in the wrong spots, and it sounds empty. I had high hopes and expectations for the new Whitney album, but it doesn't seem to be holding up. I'll be looking forward to the new Mariah and Mary albums this fall.

NEW MUSIC: WHITNEY HOUSTON
Whitney's supreme pipes are back into decent form with the unveiling of her comeback single "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." The song is conventional in all ways possible. It's definitely classic Whitney at her best right now singing a power ballad, written and produced by Diane Warren and David Foster respectively.
Although this really is classic Whitney, the vocals sound decent considering the condition they were in a few years ago, but the voice is not soaring in innovative ways where it did on records like "I Will Always Love You" and "I Have Nothing." Despite the lack in vocal ability, I think Whitney fans and music critics will overlook the minor flaw, because the long awaited return of Ms. Houston is triumphant so far.
