So, yesterday was the beginning of June - which meant Black Music Month began. It was a definite oversight, but that's a good thing because this post probably would have overshadowed my post about the late David Ruffin of Motown super group, The Temptations.
Black Music Month is always one of the best times of the year because so many media outlets put out great stories and/or documentaries about Black music pioneers. It's a shame I don't have a premium cable package because I'd probably be watching a documentary on VH1 Soul about the evolution of Black music. So it looks like I'll have to depend on public television or perhaps BET to produce a retrospective program.
So, if I catch a good program, I will definitely share with you all. And I will also use this opportunity to write some retrospective pieces of my own aside from the "This Day In Music" series. So stay tuned and make sure you comment!
