MUST SEE TV? - WELCOME TO DREAMLAND

So, the new show "Welcome to Dreamland" premiered on BET last night after an entertaining episode of "College Hill: South Beach," and music industry based talent show honestly sucked. The girls that were featured on the show were whack. None of them will become superstars. Honestly, if veterans like Brandy and Monica cannot bounce back, and second-rate songstress from the new millennium like Amerie and Teairra Mari cannot secure a stable career, these chicks that I saw on the show have no chance. None of them really have impressive or unique vocal chops to me so it will be interesting to see what this six-part series produces.

The show was definitely a spin on MTV's hit "Making the Band" with two producers, Jazze Phae and Drumma Boy (some no name to me), who are going to be in charge of coaching and producing their own set of females until one girl is finally the winner of the show. This will be interesting considering the girls are not very talented and they are working with second-rate producers who definitely lied about their achievements in the opening credits of the show. When was Jazze Phae ever responsible for getting Usher and Toni Braxton's careers off the ground. (Doesn't that credit go to L.A. Reid and Babyface?). Regardless to say, the only thing hot that Jazze has done significant is bring Ciara to the public's attention. As I digress, I'll give the show another view next week and see if the competition show gets better, which I doubt. (This garbage just makes me want to see the new "Making the Band" and Monica's "Still Standing.")
